剧情介绍：
大桐油号叶家两个女儿紫萱与紫桐都自幼定亲，紫萱的婆家潘家日渐没落，只剩潘永清一个人在家苦读，期望能有出头之日。与紫桐定亲的徐家生意却蒸蒸日上，成为八大油号的领军人物。叶家败落，母亲莫云花不想女儿受苦，她雇了两顶红轿要将女儿嫁出去。她暗中将两顶轿子的目的地换了个个儿，结果紫萱嫁给了桐油商徐世平，紫桐则被土匪劫持，当了土匪。抗战爆发，紫萱因孩子被日本人扣为人质，被迫当了间谍。而紫桐在中国共产党的领导下，率领土匪下山加入抗战。紫萱痛心疾首，幡然悔悟后将日本间谍头目击毙。1945年9月，日军受降仪式在东郊机场举行，紫桐正式率领队伍加入了共产党领导的抗日队伍行列，跟随大部队向新的战场出发。
