剧情介绍：
20世纪末，世界各地的天才少年组成了一个名为"炼金之星"的组织，其成员之一的高山我梦作为"XIG"的一员，靠大地给予的红光变身成盖亚·奥特曼后，投入了同CRISIS计算机所预测到的"根源性毁灭招来体"进行的誓死决战中；另一方面，已脱离"炼金之星"的"藤宫博也"坚定地认为：对于地球而言，人类才是真正的癌细胞。他凭着"蓝光"的威力，变身成与"盖亚"相对立的"蓝色奥特曼阿古茹·奥特曼"。作为日本平成年度奥特曼三作品的压轴戏，盖亚·奥特曼其最大的变化在于"盖亚和阿古茹"这二个敌对、且都为地球人出生的"人类奥特曼"的登场。当然，他俩的战斗场面也属前所未闻。同时，二人的对立观点贯穿前半段，因此前半段贴近于连续剧。
