剧情介绍：
承接前一辑的《妙手仁心》，两年后，风流不羁的黎国柱与冷静聪明的江新月，为延续两人的爱情，保持着亲蜜爱人却不愿同居的两性关系。江新月的弟弟江满月因艾滋病发已逝世，离去前数月，满月于街上拾回小狗仔仔，成为轮流寄养于各人家中的小狗。张创业与周淑茵已婚且于英国定居，而乐观多言的张家裕与凌少霞则于非洲穷乡中从事医疗工作。当周遭各人各有离合时，程至美仍坚守着他的岗位及人生态度，拯救病人于死亡边缘，每天盼望着昏迷两载的女友唐姿礼醒过来。 一切在院长罗孝齐领导下，平淡如水，直至三位年青医生的加入，为原有这班人添加了欢笑及动力，从而对自我及生命有进一步的了解。 何心妍是富家女，跟同样出身豪门的风流医生林敏智本是恋人，但程至美的出现使她认识到什么才是细水长流的爱情。 黎国柱和助手阮朗平日夕相对，二人最终经不起诱惑，背着江新月发展另一段感情。后来阮朗平对江新月感万分歉疚，宁愿独自离开香港。不久，远方传来阮朗平怀孕的消息，黎国柱知道后即推测自己就是孩子的父亲，情急下向江新月自揭偷情真相。 杏林先锋再创生命奇迹，却无法抚平感情上的创伤。程至美和黎国柱这两位大国手，在医学上屡创奇迹，面对感情时却感到无能为力。
